VBS 2026: 974 Children Reached! / by Roseanne Krzanowski

We thank God for bringing Joseph and Micheline Michel safely through the mission trip and back home. As in past years, they provided leadership and consulting to a team of Haitian missionaries that grew out of the choir of a Cap Haitien church: Grande Chorale de L’Eglise Wesleyenne de Cap Haitien. In this post, we focus on this summer’s Vacation Bible School events.

8 Churches served in this missionary trip for VBS

974 Children served

               554 Girls

420 Boys

146 Children and young people accepted Christ

Each summer, the mission team sets up outreach events in a different location. This year they returned to Ouanaminthe (sounds a bit like “wanna mint?”) and included a few other locations, including the area around Cap Haitien. Joseph taught a class for ministry leaders and a seminar for youth. Micheline led other training for youth and conferences for women. There were evangelistic meetings and Vacation Bible School (VBS). They did VBS in 8 locations.

Our Theme for this year’s VBS was: Jesus Christ’s Power Delivers Us From Our Giants.

Our Topic was: God Delivered Israel and David from Goliath’s Arrogancy. Each day students heard about God’s love, studied the Bible passage of David vs. Goliath, participated in activities and shared a meal. The outreach has continued despite the grip of organized crime around the capital that has oppressed the nation the past few years. In the midst of this upheaval, 974 children experienced an oasis of hope and 146 turned their lives over to Christ.

Micheline trains Next Gen VBS teachers: Since last year I started to train two girls, Tesha and Gabriella, who used to be VBS students. They are still students, but they’re being trained. Their mothers are VBS teachers. They were with us everywhere. I keep them in my classes so they will learn how to present the lessons. They teach some songs to the children; they help in crafts and in serving snacks and dinner.

Praise God for how He is growing leaders to bring Christ’s love to Haitian communities!
